Janet Hasselbring is a retired educator and musician from the west Michigan area. She and her husband, Don, reside in Spring Lake, MI with their Welsh terrier, Maggie May. They spend their winters in Sarasota, FL.
Though a reluctant snowbird, Janet agreed to give Florida a try, fell in love with the state’s wildlife and shorebirds and was inspired to write children’s books about them in a series entitled, “Tales from Pelican Cove.” Tales has four books and a fifth book, Mimi the Mockingbird and the Great Migration, has just been released. This series is endorsed by Save our Seabirds (SOS), a wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release center in Sarasota, Florida.
